Dortmund as a hub for the healthcare industry!
More than 20 percent of all employees in Dortmund work in the healthcare industry, 1,337 additional jobs were created in this industry last year. Renowned institutes and competence centers such as the Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften (ISAS), the BioMedizinZentrumDortmund and the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology are based in Dortmund.

Dortmund hosts Germany's largest and oldest IT faculty with 9,772 students. Dortmund has had a Chair of Artificial Intelligence at the Dortmund University since 1995. More than 1,000 IT companies are located in our city.
